In re: Social + Capital Arbitration

Analysis Group was retained by Kirkland and Ellis on behalf of Social + Capital, a Silicon Valley venture capital firm, in a JAMS arbitration. Social + Capital faced claims from three former partners alleging improper dilution of their carried interest following their departures.

An Analysis Group team led by Vice President Lauren Hunt and Managers Dasha Anosova and Christopher Lako supported academic affiliate Ilya Strebulaev of the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Professor Strebulaev opined on venture capital industry practices related to both the compensation of venture capital fund managers and partner departures from venture capital funds. He submitted affirmative and rebuttal reports, provided deposition testimony, and testified at the arbitration hearing.

The JAMS arbitration panel found in favor of Social + Capital in all respects and dismissed all claims asserted by the claimants, securing a complete victory for the venture capital firm.
